Here Comes Halloween

It’s that time of year!

Normally I am not into Halloween but, how I love the fall!

This year I decided to celebrate both  =)  Why not?

So, here are my plans.
Thursday October 30th I am going to have people over. Mostly family however, any friend who is down for a good time can come too ;)

We will have pumpkin ale at me house, fall treats like pumpkin pie, and salty pumpkin seeds …oh and of course, we will be carving some pretty awesome pumpkins!

If you live in the Miami area, you are so welcomed to come! Consider this your invitation.
Friday October 31st I will be wearing my awesome Evil Queen costume to work (from Once Upon a Time, any dedicated viewers?) and I may stay home and watch some classic Halloween favorites from when I was a kid.

Here are some pictures of the preparation…I may have started eating the pumpkin pie already =/

What are you doing?

Keep Trucking On

Hey there lovely people! I know it has been too long; too long since I have reached out to the community I oh so love, my bloggers and my readers. I have MISSED you all so so much!

It’s time I get back to blogging. I need this in my life.

So what’s been going on all this time?

I recently got a new job. It’s the first job in my field (social work). I am now serving the unaccompanied minors population. Who are these people? They are children who cross the border alone, without their parents. Some travel with a coyote (a smuggler/foot guide). These children face a lot on their journey, they go through it all hoping to have better life when they get here.
Working with this population has been challenging. But most of all, transitioning from student to a professional has been even tougher.

This is why I need you all! I need the encouraging words from my readers, I need hope and I need inspiration.

What else have I been up to?

I also have been working hard to pay off my darn STUDENT LOANS (I just stuck out my tongue like a child) How I hate those loans! But, most of all I have been dreaming... Dreaming about where I will be five years from now and how I can make a difference in the lives of others at this moment.
I know, you’re probably thinking “you just got this job” and “why are you already thinking where you will be five years from now?” Guys, I admit I have been a bit disillusioned. In this time of transition I have realized that working for a system is harder than I thought. Theory and practice are not the same. So, I dream of the day that I can call the shots for my clients, I dream of a better system, one that looks out for the client’s best interest and not their own. Yet, I am reminded that I serve God and not a system. His will, will ultimately prevail. So whatever little things I can do for my clients I must trust that it is enough and that God is working out the details.

I am learning though. I am learning that no matter what life surprises me with. No matter how disillusioned I am about my dreams, I cannot give up! I must keep fighting. This is my message to you all today, keep dreaming, dreamer and keep fighting, fighter. You may think you aren't doing much, but you are. What may be little to you now is huge to someone else and even if you’re just at the beginning, just starting to walk out this dream of yours, keep trucking on… we all have to start somewhere. Keep your eye on the mark and remember the impact you will have in the long run is GREAT.

Well, that is all for today. Thanks for listening/reading  =) I’ll see you soon.

Xoxo
